08-19-2002 From: Jotech
Motorsports/ Kenny Tran Racing
Oregon Event Sees Trans First Eight-Second Run and Blistering 172 MPH Top Speed. As the 2002
NHRA Summit national championship title chase starts to heat up with only
three events left Kenny Tran solidified his position in the hunt with
his second final- round in as many weeks against the Venom Civic of Bruce
Mortensen. Despite the
final-round problem Tran was happy to have gained valuable points and
also run his first eight-second pass. Trans Norwood/Palo
tuned Civic has been threatening to creep into the eights all season and
Tran was ecstatic to break through so convincingly. The next event for the Jotech /AC team is at Sears Point Raceway in Sonoma California on the 7th-8th September. Englishtown, New Jersey is on October the 5th-6th and finally the season finale at Pomona California on October 26th-27th. " We are creeping closer and all we have to do is stay focused and do the best we can in the final three events. Said Tran. " Bob Norwood and Tony Palo are doing a great job on the car and it seems to get a little bit better at every event. In fact the whole team have been awesome this year. I can't wait to get to Sonoma; It's going to be a dogfight all the way now and the Jotech/ AC Civic is right in the middle. |
