Kenny Tran Announces Alliance With Bob Norwood

In an announcement today Sport-Compact racer Kenny Tran revealed plans for the Jotech Motorsports race team's immediate future and ongoing development.

Tran's Enkei wheels/AC Autotechnic sponsored Honda Civic has been undergoing some radical changes in the last few weeks under the guidance of tuning guru Bob Norwood. Norwood, builder of some of the fastest cars in the world and multi-world record holder was initially contracted to supervise the transition to Alcohol power for Jotech racing.
Although final testing and tuning is still underway the transition has proven to be a big step in the right direction. A recent 170 mph pass and 9.0 second runs show that the team is making progress towards sub 9 second passes.

" This has been a very exciting time for the whole team". Tran said. " Bob Norwood has come on board and he brings a wealth of experience with him. I have no doubt that we are right on track to really make an impact on the Sport Compact racing scene in the near future. We are testing the changes that Bob has implemented and so far we are having great success".

" We are looking forward to the next event on the NHRA calendar at Ennis Texas. This is our home event and it will also be a night race so the heat will not be as much of a problem. I would love to put on a real show for the Texan race fans and I think with the recent changes we are in with a great chance of getting a home-turf win".

Tran also announced that he will soon be making "demonstration runs" in Bob Norwood's remarkable four-thousand horsepower Acura Funny-car. The four-cylinder nitro burning one-off machine has been the subject of recent TV and print coverage and with the Tran/Norwood partnership officially announced plans are being made to showcase the car at selected events.

Bob Norwood is confident that Kenny Tran has what it takes to control the Acura-bodied beast:
" Kenny has all of the qualities you look for in a driver. He is totally professional about racing and is very confident in his abilities. When you are driving something like our Funny-car you have to be one-hundred percent focused. Kenny is perfect for the job. I am looking forward to seeing him show all of his skills behind the wheel of the car".
