"We had
an elusive problem that we spent most of the weekend chasing down."
Said Tran. "The whole crew worked really hard and finally we sorted
it out only to get beaten in the semi because we had a soft tune-up in
the car. Rest assured, we will be back in the hunt at our next event.
We learned a thing or two and despite the problems we had a great time
in front of our home fans."
The Quaker
State® Pit area was the center of attraction all weekend as the North
Texas fans crowded around to get a look at the Quaker State® Civic
and local favorite Kenny Tran.
"The
fans were awesome." Said Tran. "I get a lot of support at home
events and it is always a lot of fun to mix with the fans. We have a great
looking rig this year and we always bring out some show cars as well.
The crowds were thick around our area all weekend as the fans snapped
pictures and lined up for autographs. I had a great time."
Trans tuner,
Bob Norwood was complimented the teams performance in the pits. "Tony
Palo and Shawn Fischer worked hard to chase down the problems this weekend
and showed that they can handle the pressure. I am happy with the way
the team is gelling at this point and I feel that we are now in a position
to beat anyone in the sport."
The next appearance
for the Quaker State® team will be in New Jersey on May 3-4th for
the second round of the NHRA Sport Compact National Championships at Englishtown.
