Kenny Tran Signs Multi-Year Deal With Quaker State

Las Vegas. Nevada 11-07-2002 The 2002 SEMA show was the scene of the official announcement of a major sponsorship deal for NHRA Hot-Rod star Kenny Tran. The Quaker State Oil company will be the main sponsor for Tran's Hot-rod class Honda Civic in what promises to be a thrilling future for Team Jotech.

Headquartered in Houston Texas, Quaker State is one of the largest automotive lubricant companies in the USA with a 14.1 percent share of the national market. Quaker State products are sold in 45 countries worldwide. With the signing of Kenny Tran, Quaker State is planning a marketing strategy to capture a major share of the rapidly expanding sport compact market in the USA.

The multi-year deal with Quaker State is a major boost for sport compact drag racing in the USA. Quaker State now joins several other major corporations in recognizing the huge potential of the sport compact scene. Tran has had a fantastic year in 2002, setting new standards for the FWD unibody class with a world record 8.591 second pass and several 172mph plus passes. After fighting mechanical woes early in the year Tran bounced back with a re-structured team and finished the year in third place in the prestigious NHRA national championships.

" I am sure we can make a serious challenge for the title next year." Said Tran. "We will be testing extensively over the winter break.
